Orchestra Sinfonica del Teatro Tosti di OrtonaPIF represents the panorama of the complex family of reeds and the classical accordion section is the spearhead. A diamond that returns to shine by a PIF production at the Teatro Astra, the “sacred” stage on which every accordionist would like to play: S-Confini represents the different souls of the accordion in the mixed culture of our day. S-Confini, scheduled thanks to the partenership with the companies of Castelfidardo, puts in the middle of the stage the accordion and the string orchestra by a new trend of tonal compositions, more aggressive experimentation and the contamination with other musical genres.

S-Confini opens with “ORIA 1944”, the world première by Cesare Chiacchiaretta, the PIF1993winner. A refined artist with an extraordinary international career, Chiacchiaretta has been dedicated for some years to the composition of new tonal music. “ORIA 1944” is an incredible story of the World War Two that saw his grandfather Cesare protagonist.

Vladimir Blagojevic, the PIF1998 winner, is one of the best concert performers in the Balkan area with over seventy first performances. Blagojevic has the honor of playing première of “Towards the Great Rift” by the composer Vladimir Trmčić in the accordion and string orchestra version.

Marco Gemelli, already winner of many international competitions, concertist and professor of excellence, awarded by PIF2003 as best Italian of the classical accordion section, introduce the soul fusion of S-Confini. Gemelli make artistic research through the first performances of composers who wrote for him works in which the mixture is the watchword. He will play the première of the accordion and string arrangement “La vita delle cose” (Things life), composed by the PIF2018 artistic director Renzo Ruggieri.

Accompanying the artists is the String Orchestra of the Tosti Theater in Ortona, directed by the international violinist Paolo Angelucci. This Orchestra is very open to innovation and boasts a repertoire that ranges from Pachebel, to Mozart, from Bernstein to Astor Piazzola up to the most driven projects with Jazz Festival.
