Started playing accordion at age of 8. After finishing primary music school (department – accordion), she continued her musical studies at the Music High School “D-r Vojislav Vuchkovic” in Belgrade, Serbia. By this time, Zorica was already a prize-winner of different national competitions.

After graduating, she continued her accordion studies at the Faculty of Music – Skopje (Macedonia) in the class of Prof.VojinVasovic. In January 2004, she acquired the degree“Master of Arts”.

Since the year of 2002, she has been working as a professor of accordion and chamber music at the Faculty of Music – Skopje. She started her pedagogic work in 1995 at the State Music Ballet School Centre “IlijaNikolovski-Luj” – Skopje. Since then, her students have won more than 350 prestigious awards at numerous national and international competitions. Together they had realized many successful performances on concert stages – both at home and abroad (Luxembourg, Finland, Portugal, France, Italy, Serbia, Czech Republic, Croatia, Bulgaria, etc.).

Prof.Karakutovska is the president of the Macedonian Association of Accordionists “Ljubiteli na klasichnata muzika” which was founded in Skopje and became a member of the International Confederation of Accordionists (CIA) in 2001.

The Association, administered by its president, Prof.Karakutovska, supports the international project “May 6th – World Accordion Day” with various events. This year for the tenth time, the association organized a solemn concert marking the celebration of the International holiday and birthday of the instrument accordion.

Prof.Karakutovska was a member of the CIA Music Committee (2006-2010), member of the Executive Board of the Association of Music and Ballet pedagogues from the Republic of Macedonia and member of the National Ensemble of the Traditional Folk Dances and Songs “Tanec” – Skopje. She is a current member of the Executive Board of the Music Artists Union of Macedonia (Mac. abb.: SMUM).

Prof.Zorica Karakutovska is a winner of the prestigious award “13th November” of the City of Skopje, presented for outstanding achievements of musical education and culture. By the Association of Music and Ballet pedagogues from the Republic of Macedonia she was rewarded for her many years’ successful work in the field of music pedagogy.

As a performer, she has played at all prestigious manifestations in Macedonia. She is a collaborator – accordionist of the Macedonian Philharmonic Orchestra.

As a representative of the Republic of Macedonia, she participate in the work of professional juries at numerous prestigious competition all over Europe. Since 1995, she has been a jury in all national competitions for solo accordion and chamber music.

Prof.Karakutovska is still active on the concert stage. She is a member of “AkordioM” alongside with her colleague, Filip Stamevski. Together they had accomplished many successful performances on concert stages home and abroad. In June 2015, “AkordioM” had their USA debut in New York City, NY.
