PIF Around, the “Pizzica” music from Salento to Loreto

Administration in collaboration with neighboring municipalities introduces the 42nd edition of the PIF Accordion International Prize by spreading the universal language of music and touching significant sites in the history of the instrument. The opening concert is the Paglialunga trio (Paglialunga at tambourine and voice), Anglano (accordion, organ and voice) and De Marco (guitar and voice), protagonists of this particular popular folk music of Salento. A vibrant alchemy of experiences, voices and sounds. Giancarlo Paglialunga is a prestigious drummer who has developed in his years of research and dedication a peculiar approach to salento music, suspended between tradition and modernity: with his songs he gives voice to the earth, drawing it with the shamanic magic of percussion, from the most ancient and ancestral of human existence and culture. Numerous collaborations, soloist of the Night of Taranta (another name of the Pizzica) and in his journey with the Canzone Grecanico Salentino performs on tours around the world. The accordionist is Giuseppe Anglano, who plays steadily in Italy and abroad with the Aja Mea group. At the guitar, mandolin, irish bouzouky, ukulele, there is Massimiliano De Marco, guitarist of the Popular Orchestra of the Taranta Night and the Kalàscima Lab.
