The International Accordion Prize returns to Castelfidardo for the 46th edition to be held from 28 September to 2 October. The tradition of the most prestigious event in the accordion world continues, after last year’s session which took place in streaming mode for obvious limits, with an appreciable and successful participation of competitors and the public. There are several new features for 2021, both at an artistic and organizational level, among which certainly the return in attendance at the event stands out.

“Getting together is a very important need for musicians from all over the world” – says Antonio Spaccarotella, new artistic director of the PIF – “To truly experience Castelfidardo and try again the thrill of concerts in contact with the public, in a serene and stimulating atmosphere. like that of a family “.

“Living the accordion world every day” – continues the young Calabrian maestro – “I feel a strong desire for “real” events, after the” virtual “wave that has shocked the whole world of music. See the astonishment admired in the eyes of the musicians who feel that the Prize will be held in attendance is for me a source of great joy and an incentive to do better and better, to find new solutions to improve, starting with the regulations “.

Ruben Cittadini, Councilor for Culture of Castelfidardo also shares the same opinion – We are working with renewed commitment to the organization of the event, with particular attention to the calendar of events which this year includes evenings with important names at an international level. Our goal – continues the councilor – is the full satisfaction of all those who will experience the PIF in person, to which we have always cared a lot, be they musicians, tourists and in particular fellow citizens. As soon as the last engagements with the artists have been defined, very soon, we will publish the names and dates of the shows on the bill, which I believe will represent an excellent setting for the Award.

“The commitment of the Administration is to promote the culture of the accordion, heritage of our city, both at an artistic and industrial production level” – explains the mayor Roberto Ascani – “a project of which we are particularly proud this year, after the sad events of the pandemic that hit us, both globally and locally. It is with a view to supporting the social life of the city and the productive realities that make it up what we strongly believe in recomposing the identity of the fabric social, as our predecessors did for the unification of Italy, which this year marks the 160th anniversary, for the defense of the values and ideals of the Risorgimento, which Castelfidardo remembers in its history and in its future “.
