Ivano Battiston, holding diplomas in accordion, bassoon, choral music and choral conducting, won the XXVIII Trophée Mondial de l’Accordéon in 1978 and has since built an intense concert career, both as a soloist and in chamber ensembles.

He has collaborated with leading figures on the international scene — invited by Mario Brunello to record works by Sofia Gubaidulina, by Luciano Berio for the inaugural concert of the Sala Santa Cecilia at Rome’s Auditorium Parco della Musica, and by Avi Avital for the CD “Between Worlds” (Deutsche Grammophon).

He has performed with orchestras including I Solisti di Mosca, the RAI National Symphony Orchestra, the Orchestra della Toscana and I Pomeriggi Musicali di Milano, across Europe, Russia, and North and South America. Accordion professor at the “Luigi Cherubini” Conservatory in Florence from 1992 to 2024, he is also the author of roughly a hundred compositions.
