Founded in 2019 under the guidance of Maestro Germano Scurti at the “Tito Schipa” Conservatory in Lecce, the Sirius Accordion Trio is today one of the most awarded chamber ensembles on the international accordion scene: absolute winner of the 2021 Coupe Mondiale in Munich (the first Italian ensemble ever to achieve this), of the 71st Trophée Mondial de l’Accordéon, and of the 48th International Accordion Prize right here in Castelfidardo.
In Castelfidardo the trio brings a repertoire that explores the sound worlds of the Russian and Northern European compositional schools, featuring works by Makkonen, Schnittke, Hakola and Semenov, confirming the group’s mission to bring the classical accordion to the world’s most important chamber music stages.
