Among the cultural events of the PIF, the International Accordion Prize of Castelfidardo in its fiftieth edition, tomorrow at 11:00 AM in the Hall of Coats of Arms of the Prioral Palace hosting the Municipality, the meeting-conference titled “Musical art and the craftsmanship of the Castelfidardo accordion. A cataloging project with a UNESCO perspective” will take place. The event, which concludes the first stage of the candidacy process led by Patrizia Nardi in synergy with the administration of Mayor Roberto Ascani and in collaboration with the UNESCO Office, the Central Institute for Intangible Heritage, and the Central Institute for Cataloging and Documentation of the Ministry of Culture, aims to disclose and promote the initial results of the complex field research conducted over the past year by Luisa Vietri, an ethno-anthropologist specialized in cataloging DEA assets, and Roberto Lucanero, ethnomusicologist and musician, aimed at cataloging this element.
The meeting will feature Prof. Arch. Francisco Javier López Morales, former Director of World Heritage of the Federal States of Mexico and one of the world’s leading experts, also involved in drafting numerous UNESCO Conventions. He will focus on the importance of the 2003 UNESCO Convention for the safeguarding of intangible cultural heritage.
Following the institutional greetings from Mayor Roberto Ascani and Councilor Ruben Cittadini, Patrizia Nardi — who conceived the event — will introduce the guests following the project: Leandro Ventura, Director of the Central Institute for Intangible Heritage; Vincenzo Santoro, Head of the Culture Department at ANCI; Fabrizio Magnani, Officer for DEA Assets at ICCD; Deborah Licastro, Head of Area V for Demoehtnoanthropological Heritage at the Superintendence for the provinces of Ancona, Pesaro and Urbino; the anthropologist Luisa Vietri; and the ethnomusicologist Roberto Lucanero. Representatives of the practice community, the Castelfidardo Accordion Museum, the Conservatories of Pesaro, Fermo, and Catanzaro, the AMMA Association, the Artistic Direction of PIF, and the “Paolo Soprani” Civic Music School will also be present.
