“The participation was really beyond the expectations considering the rather compressed times for a writing for orchestra – states the M ° Paolo Picchio, president of the prestigious jury which is ranked among the nineteen compositions registered – I thank for the opportunity the Artistic Director Renzo Ruggeri and the jury for the collaboration: PIF Castelfidardo has once again promoted the production of really interesting works that break down the fences between compositional languages and different styles “.
Andrea Di Giacomo, performer and winner of numerous competitions, won the PIF in two other categories: the category Varieté under 18 (soloists) in 2014 and the World Music category in 2015 (ensemble).
Graduating in composition at the “Luisa D’Annunzio” Conservatory of Pescara, the winner of the PIF2018 Classical Composition Category by “Chiaroscuro” wants to recreate, through the contrasts between rhythm and melody, consonance and dissonance, the artistic effect given by the alternation of lights and shadows.
