The GALA CONCERTS are the evening appointments, the flagship of the PIF. At this festival they have already played all the great accordionists and looking for new artists and new combinations is no small task. The Astra Theater in Castelfidardo will host the festival’s peak concerts every night (except Saturdays). Each event will initially propose the 3 finalists of the daily auditions that will compete for the podium and to follow the performances of international artists. But here they are in detail:
It starts on September 18 with a theatrical reality of great interest as the “Compagnia della Rancia” which, in collaboration with the Association “Gervasio Marcosignori” and its musicians, has realized a performance that inserts the accordion into the story of the modern musical. The director Saverio Marconi, with the choreography of Stefania Pacifico, uses the accordion on stage to the notes of famous melodies.
MEMORIES “Gervasio Marcosignori” (Italy, Serbia) crossover
with Giancarlo Caporilli, Petar Maric
19 September h21: 00, Astra Theater
Telling the story of Gervasio Marcosignori in a concert is certainly not possible but with the help of the writer Sandro Strologo and of the Association that bears his name we have developed some videos that will remember the figure of the legendary artist while two on the stage will alternate wonderful artists, to remember the two souls of Gervasio or the acoustic and electronic accordion. Maestro Giancarlo Caporilli, now part of the Italian history of the accordion, had a very close relationship with Gervasio and will offer us the historical interpretations of the great master. For the electronic soul instead we chose one of the most representative young people of the digital accordion: Petar Maric from Serbia. Petar, in addition to winning all the most important competitions in the world, has been on a world tour for years and it was not easy to take it to Castelfidardo. He will pay a tribute to the master by playing one of his famous transcriptions and then propose electronic adaptations of pieces from classical music according to the path traced by Marcosignori. During the concert the cast of Gervasio’s hand will be exhibited.
Inevitable the jazz concert, this year brings back on stage a Jazz Big Band composed of extraordinary professionals and directed by Maestro Massimo Morganti. The Jazz Colors Orchestra will accompany 3 great artists who will tell us about jazz accordion from various angles. Gianni Coscia certainly needs no introduction, he is the story of Italian jazz accordion, with his sober and refined style he was able to tell the Italian jazz contamination better and before anyone else. Chico Chagas from Brazil is an incredible character; born in the Amazon forest, he counts crazy collaborations: Milton Nascimento, Caetano Veloso, Gilberto Gil and he will not fail to excite with Brazilian rhythms. Another sacred monster of the Italian accordion, Massimo Tagliata is a versatile artist who has made his versatility the strong point, ranging from the most traditional jazz, to tango to important collaborations with pop: how not to remember his wonderful performance in the hit ” Dream me ”of Italian pop singer Biagio Antonacci.
