Written by PIF on . Posted in News

In these difficult days, we feel the greater need to offer cultural opportunities to the world of accordion. This year PIF Academy confirms the realization of the announced BOOK on the future of the accordion and adds three SEMINARS (Classical, Jazz and World) with artists who have made the history of the accordion in the world. Thanks to live streaming, these events – in English and Italian – will have an unprecedented international resonance and there will be the opportunity to speak directly with the protagonists.

The protagonists:

  • Gil Goldstein (USA)
    THE WORLD ACCORDION TO GIL
    JAZZ Accordion Seminar

In 1993 the project “Miles Davis and Quincy Jones Play the Music of Gil Evans” won the Grammy Award and contains his reconstruction of the orchestrations. But he also worked as an orchestrator for film music with composers Ryuichi Sakamoto, Peter Kosminsky and collaborated with Bernardo Bertolucci in the film Piccolo Budda.
Gil will do a seminar on his experience as an accordionist from a different perspective (than pianist), starting from his beginnings, addressing issues such as solo development, accompaniment, transcriptions and other tips on using the accordion in Jazz.
