Nguyen Tai Hung

Nguyen Tai Hung was born in Hanoi (1965).

– In 1988 he graduated from The Moscow Gnessin State Musical Collegeas accordionist (class of Honored Artist of Russia V. Motov) and as conductor the russian orchestra (class of People’s Artist of Russia V. Kozhukhar).

– In 1993 he graduated from The Gnessin Russian Academy of Music (Master’s degree) in class of People’s Artist of Russia, prof. Yury Dranga.

– In 2007, he successfully defended his PhD thesis on The Accordion Transcription and Accordion Orchestra Arrangements at The Vietnam National Academy of Music. Hehas played many concerts, both solo and in chamber groups, as well as a conductor with VNAM accordion orchestra in main concert halls in Vietnam.

– From 1996 to present, Nguyen Tai Hung is Lecturer, Head of The Accordion Department of Vietnam National Academy of Music. Among the students: Nguyen Quynh Chi (2ndPrize, Accordion International Competition in Reinach, Switzerland, 2009 and 7thplace at 67thAccordion Mondial Trophee in France, 2017); Pham Ngoc Minh Chau (2rdprize, 10thBelgrad International Music Competition, Serbia, 2019).

– Nguyen Tai Hung has been a member of the jury for prestigious international music competitions such as: The CMA Trophee Mondial 67th, France 2017; The 9thBelgrad International Music Competition, Serbia, 2018; The 7thInternational Accordion Competition “Mehfest” – Belgrad, 2019.

– General secretary for the Vietnam National Academy of Music – a voting member of The Confederation Internationale des Accodeonistes (CIA) since 2003.

– Nguyen Tai Hung represent Vietnam delegation to be a member of Confédération Mondiale de l’Accordéon(CMA) since 2017.
