Interview with Anibal Freire | Is Accordion like a “Timbric chameleon?”

Aníbal Freire was the first … portuguese accordionist for the title of World Champion in 1972, repeateing that success in 1974.

He is a member of the international jury and invited to organize Masterclasses accordion both in Portugal and abroad.

He is a lecturer at the Institute of Music Vitorino Matono in Lisbon, founder and president of the Association of Accordion Alcobaça / Portugal and founder / director of the Orchestra and Chorus Typical of Alcobaça.

As a teacher, has been highlighted by the results achieved by students at national and international level.

He is a composer and as an art director / organizer is responsible for the International Accordion Week, which led to Portugal’s best accordionists in the world, on a constant supply of this great tool.
